Abstract

At the moment, the question of the existence of the village, which was the cradle of the nation, an amulet of traditions, a source of folk art is very painful. Depopulation of rural areas due to the fact that the Ukrainian village is experiencing a social, economic, cultural decline. Unlike urban settlements, the village has had limited living conditions in all historical times, worse starting conditions for education and employment, infrastructure problems, lack of social and cultural facilities - hairdressing salons, workshops, ateliers, libraries, clubs, shops; Transport communication was also at a poor level. In the village, people’s life prospects were limited to their own yard. In the middle of the 19th century Dubovychi village of Glukhov district of Chernigov province was like all surrounding villages, but there was one difference – the owners of the estate – the Kochubeev family, who lived there from 1688 to 1919, and in the years of hard times in the country, and in the years of prosperity they cared аbout the well-being of people and the flourishing of the village-they built churches, opened schools, and developed small manufactories. The article reflects the activity of Vasily Kochubei (30) (1829–1978) for ten years from 1852–1861, the influence of activities on the flowering of the village, its historical significance within the Seversky Krai and the country as a whole. It is established that: his petitions the village was given the status of the town; openly and for ten years a parish school has been funded to provide education for rural children; progressive technologies of sugar production were introduced at the firing sugar factory; he organized processions and so on. Until now, ancient poplars, lindens, remains of buildings and preserved architectural monuments, oral traditions and written sources remind us of those ancient times.
