Abstract

The features of political technologies during the electoral process and the Orange Revolution of 2004 concerning the national minorities of Ukraine are revealed. Participation of national minorities during the 2004 election campaign is seen from the perspective of the ideas of the Orange Revolution. It was found that the candidates for the Presidency of Ukraine used political and manipulative technologies for attracting national minorities to the electoral process. The levers of influence of the Russian Federation on the public-political activity of national minorities in the territory of Ukraine during the elections and the Orange Revolution of 2004 have been revealed. It is proved that the Russian minority in Ukraine, having all the conditions for the development of national-cultural identity, has become a significant factor in the formation of not only internal politics, but also external. It has been established that the leading role in the formation of separatist ideas during the 2004 presidential election played by Russian political technologists, the existence of a powerful informational, administrative resource, and support for Russia contributed to the erosion of the ideas of radical Ukrainian nationalism in the national minorities of the East, South of Ukraine and the Crimea. As a result of targeted propaganda, a high level of support of the pro-government candidate Viktor Yanukovych was achieved. The events of social and political life in Ukraine in 2004 were the forerunners of the "hybrid war" and the Russian aggression in 2014.
