Abstract

The unique monuments of cultural heritage, as Kurgans of ancient Pereyaslav and its neighborhood were considered in this article, also were showed their connection with Taras Shevchenko`s creative contribution. These ancient buildings are one of the most numerous among the monuments of archeology at the territory of Pereyaslav. Great part of them is concentrated in the district of the Old Pereyaslav. These objects attract attention of scientists, archeologists, historians, ethnographers, who were interested in history of Pereyslav for a long time. Taras Shevchenko, a great Ukrainian poet, writer, artist, public fi gure, who during some time was the part of Temporary commission for analyzing of an ancient acts in the Kiev, Volhynia and Podolia General Governorate, pay attention to these monuments. When he was in Pereyaslav in 1845, Taras Grygorovich looked over and described Kurgany of Pereyaslav and its neighborhood and other monuments of ancient Pereyaslav. These memories of old times found a representation in his poetic and prosaic works. The authors offer measures directed on saving of Kurgans, which are connected to Shevchenko`s being in Peryaslav.
