Abstract

The article specifi es the location of trade route the study of which was initiated by B.A. Rybakov. The scientist believed that the roads were along the watersheds where the caravans were going for three days – two days of moving and one day of camping under the protection of fortifi cations. The research of A.P. Moţsya has extended the period of existence of the road and it helped considerably to clarify the route. Annalistic information detail watershed scheme. From Kiev the route followed through Lto-Borispol, Baryshevka and the upper reaches of the Supoy river. Then it could run through the cities of Priluk and Krasn. Perhaps there were movement between the springhead of the Oster and Uday to Belaya Vezha and Glebl. Both variants are taken out to the watershed of the Seim and Sula under the control of the cities Zartuy and Vur. The key fortress was Kursk whence the road led North. Generally the route Kiev-Bolgar requires new research but the existence of ancient watershed road is no doubt.
